The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had on 27 August confirmed that they had blocked the website of which Raja Petra Kamaruddin hosted for alleged inaccurate information.

We see the blockade on this website as being unjust towards one’s right of expression and would like to call on the federal government to reconsider such move to block the website and its censorship is the most popular news portal with viewers and readers actively posting their views, comments and feedbacks almost everyday on current issues affecting the nation.

With the now being blocked from public view, we are worried that other websites and blogs which are critical to the government may also face the blockade or censorship, or a possibility being forced to shut down.Under the MSC Malaysia 10-Point Bill of Guarantee, it has been part of its commitment to ensure no internet censorship will be carried out but why is there a blockade and censorship now?
