As expected, the magistrate’s court here today rejected the bid by the deceased’s family who wanted action taken against Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer Raub Ghani for lodging a police report against a key witness in the ongoing inquest.
Magistrate Azmil Muntapha Abbas said that in a contempt charge, the intention behind the act did not matter. Therefore, the MACC officer who tried to sabotage the inquest proceedings escaped the law just like that.
Just because of this MACC guy the inquest has been postponed so many times as the key witness to the case, Dr Pornthip did not want to testify for fear of being detained by the police after Raub lodged a police report against her.
We doubt the magistrate's inquest would serve justice to the Teoh family as what we saw this case is going to prolong. Can this inquest guarantee that the murderer could be found and brought to justice as soon as possible.
This is what the Najib administration still failed to answer till today.

MACC probing RM1.43 billion cost escalation of Rawang-Ipoh double-tracking rail project based on phantom PAC investigations?
by Lim Kit Siang, DAP Advisor and Parliamentary Leader
The statement by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will investigate the double-tracking rail project that has resulted in more than RM1 billion losses, as reported by Malaysian Insider "Nazri confirms MACC to probe double-tracking project” yesterday, is intriguing and perplexing.
The Malaysian Insider reported:
The MACC investigations come after the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) announced last week it wanted to probe the RM6 billion double-tracking project when the Auditor-General's Report said poor project management led to the losses.
"MACC will investigate PAC‘s minutes. PAC is the parliament’s committee so certainly ... As I have said, MACC has informed me that they will investigate based on the allegations made by the PAC so there will be no dispute so don’t worry,” the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department told reporters in Parliament.
Nazri said that the MACC had assured him that they would pursue the PAC’s recommendations.
"The fact that it was tabled in the Parliament and there is no debate about it because the PAC is a extension of the Parliament and their decision is our decision,” he added.
MACC cannot possibly be probing the double-tracking rail project based on PAC proceedings as the PAC has yet to start investigation into the RM1.43 billion escalation of the Rawang-Ipoh double-tracking contract and there is neither any PAC meeting nor PAC minutes on it.
What is this phantom PAC proceeding on the Rawang-Ipoh double tracking project that Nazri and MACC are talking about?
Former Transport Minister, Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy had mentioned that the double-tracking project was “three times the size” of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) when he appeared before the PAC on PAC probe into the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scandal.
As Chan had told the PAC: “No, it is not the biggest (project under the Ministry of Transport). Double-tracking project is much bigger. It is 12 almost 13 billion? It is three times the size of this project (PKFZ).”
Is this tangential reference by Chan in his testimony about the double-tracking project before the PAC sufficient to found a MACC investigation purportedly based on the PAC minutes?
In any event, why is it necessary for the MACC to wait and depend on the PAC minutes and recommendations to initiate anti-corruption investigations?
Or was Nazri actually referring to the calls by UMNO MPs for MACC investigation into the current Transport Minister and MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat for purchasing four 20-year-old diesel multiple unit (DMUs) trains at RM30 million for the Rawang-Ipoh double-tracking route?
Nazri should make a proper clarification.

Rumours of a Selangor 'coup' unleashes pre-emptive moves
Rumours about a BN-Umno engineered Selangor coup are making the rounds among political circle and Pakatan leaders are not taking it sitting down.
This is certainly a well-planned coup attempt by BN-Umno same as the one they did it on Perak on last February. Well, we hope that the Selangor Pakatan leadership will plan its strike back before it is too late.
Learn from the experience that Perak Pakatan had undergone. The BN-Umno had the MACC and various security apparatus to support their coup attempt. The Selangor Pakatan need to sit down together to come up with their next course of action rather than to deal with petty political squabbles amongst PKR, DAP and PAS.
Remember, the Umno president Najib Razak had pledged to retake Selangor at any cost and if he is serious about this, he will do it at any cost, by riots, by force or any ways he wants, even the armed forces tanks might be send in to topple the state government.
Therefore, we hope the Selangor Pakatan will start doing their homework before it is too late. Be extra careful and maintain your alert at any possibilities. These Umno people are really uncivilised and they could resort to anything if they want.

Plot hatched to topple State Government
Currently rumored around in the Selangor state are allegations that most of the state executive councilors of Pakatan Rakyat are endured in a corrupt practice to swindle state funds and allocation for personal use.
As the result, the MACC efficiently stepped in and round up the entire Selangor state government for questioning. In the middle of the interrogation, one of the state government officials was being found murdered at the Selangor MACC headquarters.
Then a blog surfaced recently claiming that the named state Exco members were part of the corrupt group of high ranking state officials that had murdered Teo Beng Hock in their effort to cover up the alleged activities.
Allegations after allegations, it seems that some parties out are trying to hatch a systematic plot to topple the state government and to take over the administration by force or violence means by inciting wild allegations and pressure against the current state government which is run by Pakatan Rakyat.
The police did nothing while the MACC is doing their best to discredit the state government, while the federal government which is still under the BN pulled its strings from behind scene. It is a very clear and open secret that the BN federal government is gearing up its plot to take over the industrialized state from Pakatan Rakyat after their successful coup d’etat that toppled the Perak state government last February.
It is a very clear fact that the BN-led federal government had wanted to avenge Pakatan Rakyat over their 8 March 2008 general elections grave defeat last year by seeking all kinds of ways and means to destabilize the Pakatan-rule state governments which lead to the collapse of the Pakatan enclave in Perak.
Besides Perak, the BN is also eyeing to destabilize two industrialize states namely Selangor and Penang, where Selangor is currently being targeted for alleged corrupt activities and Penang being embroiled in a minor racial tension following an attempt by an Umno-linked developer to evict and demolish an Indian based traditional village on an acquired land to make way for a mega project which was previously approved by the then BN Gerakan-led state government.
Apart from that, Umno is also pushing hard on Gerakan to launch a large scale assault and allegation against the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng alleging that he is corrupted and rented a high price residence to make way for a “renovation” of his evacuated official residence Seri Mutiara.
BN had every resource, like the police, the MACC, the military, the judiciary, the intelligence apparatus, the mainstream media and whatever powers they got to engineer their plans to discredit, destabilize and to topple the Pakatan state government if they want to.
But what did the Pakatan Rakyat have? Only the support from the people and our conscience! Pakatan Rakyat had in fact nothing to defend themselves against any onslaught or coup attempt from the BN all-mighty powers.
Therefore, Pakatan Rakyat leaders from PKR, DAP and PAS need sit together to take on a bigger role by establishing a security force of their own.

Why two inquiries for probe Teo’s death?
According to the BN cabinet decision, two types of inquiry would be established to probe the death of Teo Beng Hock who was found murdered in the MACC building last week.
A royal commission (RC) would be formed and assigned to find out MACC’s investigation methods while a magistrate’s inquest (MI) would be tasked to investigate the cause of Teo’s death.
First of all why would the BN federal government to establish two separate bodies to investigate this case? What was the actual motive of doing this? The BN federal government did not give any reasons on their decision to separately conduct the investigation on MACC and into Teo’s death.
Perhaps the BN federal government did not want to embarrass themselves (who earlier initiated the upgrade the entity of the MACC) and the MACC as well. And that is why they did not want an RC to probe the MACC directly on Teo’s death. So, they just appoint an inquest at magistrate level to conduct the investigation.
We are certain that once the RC and MI start their assignments, some of their reports and finding would be conflicting in a way and fact that these two entities conduct their investigations separately. And when their reports and findings are conflicting, how is the federal government going to make their decisions and what kind of action will they take as well as to base on who’s report in order to sum up their next course of action?
Just because there are two separate RC and MI to partially probe into Teo’s death, we are most certain that these two bodies would be ineffective and powerless to determine any actions on the culprits and those who are involve in Teo’s murder. And when these two entities are powerless and ineffective to come out with their solutions, then the BN federal government would step in to have their final say which of course would be in the interest of the MACC and not totally a just and fair one for Teo’s family, fiancée and our people.
Therefore, there are no clear directions and targets for both the RC and MI to begin and achieve because the responsibilities and the subject matter has been separately assigned. Is this the intention of the BN federal government that the MACC investigation method and Teo’s death would not be linked and if these two are not linked, how are they going to determine the cause of Teo’s death?
In the end, will BN say he committed suicide or he accidentally fell off while walking near the window? The question here is not only Teo’s death, because they are also others who had suffered and died while being detained or investigated before this.
We want justice and empowerment of human rights to ensure such power abuse would not repeat anymore. The problem is can BN provide us justice and human rights?

A tragic death of democracy
The special assistant to a Selangor state executive councillor, Teo Beng Hock’s death caused by MACC is tragically outrageous and the democracy of our nation is now at stake.
The MACC (Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission) had lost all its credibility and the trust of our people and they had also brought shame to our nation. Despite its new entity and upgrade recently, the MACC still practices selective political persecution by working closely with Umno to target and destroy democracy, justice, freedom and equality.
In fact MACC had also became a component member of the Barisan Nasional (BN) answerable only to the Umno top leaders and not the parliament who earlier enacted an Act to established the anti graft commission.
We, the people are watching all over you now. MACC had in fact demonstrated its one-sided policies by practicing selective persecution against members of Pakatan Rakyat for the so-called “abuses” claimed by Umno while corruptions of Umno leaders, ministers and officials are simply ignored and swept right under the carpet for good. This is a total cover-up. Why? Because MACC is part of the BN coalition at the federal level.
While the real culprits (Umno leaders, ministers and officials) are enjoying their lifestyles in big mansions and palaces from the money that they had stolen from our people, our socio-people oriented Pakatan Rakyat elected representatives are often being targeted as they are guilty criminals or terrorists.
With Beng Hock’s death caused by the MACC, we should say that there should be no more trust onto them anymore, no matter what sort of reasons they intend to give or had already given. MACC cannot avoid and run away from the people.
MACC used the taxpayers’ money to advance the interest and the political will of Umno in order to counter the rising popularity and influence of the recently emerged Pakatan Rakyat coalition of opposition parties (PKR, DAP and PAS).
Umno cannot do it by itself via a democratic ways and means and that is why they are using the judiciary, police, military and MACC to curb democracy, justice, equality and limit our freedom as well.
Umno and BN had committed a mass genocide against our people and the nation as a whole. And if we don’t vote them out, they are going to turn our entire nation into a battleground with civil unrest one day.
So, remember, Vote Them Out in the next general elections.

Minister abused his government position to get rooms for his supporters
The minister of higher education Datuk Mohamed Khalid Nordin, one of the top contenders for the Umno vice president’s post had openly admitted that he had used the ministry’s official letterhead to book some 70 hotel rooms for Umno Pasir division members and delegates for the upcoming Umno general assembly.
A confirmed source had also state that a government cheque had been issued as a deposit to obtain the hotel rooms for the party delegates.
Datuk Mohamed Khalid also reasoned that he had instructed the usage of the ministry’s letterhead to book the hotel rooms because it is very difficult to book hotel rooms during the Umno general assembly period. What does he actually mean by that?
This is clearly an abuse of power and corrupt practice. Just because he wanted to contest and win a party vice president position, he uses his government position to serve his own interest in Umno.
Therefore, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) should start investigating this power abuse and corrupt practice as soon as possible.

Factional rifts in Umno worsens
Looks like the factional rifts in Umno had worsens following the recent decision made by the party’s disciplinary committee to disqualify potential deputy presidential candidate Datuk Mohd Ali Rustam from contesting in the party polls.
But the Umno disciplinary committee decides to allow the Federal Territory youth chief Datuk Norza Zakaria to contest in the party polls instead. Datuk Norza was recently charged in the court for money politics and corruptions in the party.
It seems that the Umno disciplinary committee is behaving one-sided, barring Ali Rustam from contesting in the polls because he is guilty of money politics and corruptions in the party and allowing Norza to contest but he is also guilty of money politics and corruption.
The situation here is Ali Rustam is being probed by the Umno disciplinary committee while Norza is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC). What has been decided by the Umno disciplinary committee is being upheld, while what has been investigated by MACC was not recognized by Umno, reasoning that Norza has not been found guilty yet by the court and the proceedings are ongoing.
So, MACC should also charge Ali Rustam in this case or Ali Rustam should voluntarily surrender to the MACC so he could be investigated like what had Norza being treated with.
The differences of treatment carried out by the Umno disciplinary committee had been clearly seen as a factional rift in the party had intensified. Party president-elect Datuk Najib Razak will take office soon and he wanted to see his men on his line-up. That is why he needed to purge as many rivals as he could in order for him to consolidate his grip in both party and the government.

Mohd Ali Rustam disqualified from Umno election candidacy
One of the top contenders for the Umno deputy presidency, Datuk Mohd Ali Rustam has been disqualified by the party disciplinary committee recently. Ali Rustam was disqualified from contesting any positions in the party because of his active involvement in money politics.
Actually there is no such word of “money politics”. The word “money politics” was created by Umno leaders in order to confuse the people on its definition from the real facts. The actual word for such wrongs is in fact called corruption or bribery. Ali Rustam was disqualified because he was guilty of corruption for trying to bribe Umno delegates into voting for him and it has been proven by the party disciplinary committee after calling up several witnesses to testify during their inquiry.
Since his corrupt practice has been proven and because of his offence, he has been disqualified from the party elections, why is the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) keeping quiet? Wasn’t the MACC supposed to come in and detain Ali Rustam, who is also Malacca chief minister and charge him for corruption as well. The evidence has been shown and proven, so what is MACC waiting for?
Or is MACC afraid to act against Ali Rustam because he is still a head of a state government? Was MACC prevented from acting against Ali Rustam by both the Umno president and deputy president as well?
Umno caught some of its prominent leaders for corruption but did not want to release them to MACC for prosecution. And MACC did not want to act reasoning that there is no report lodged, that is why they did not file the case. Double standards and pretenders!

MACC investigating Perak Speaker
The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) is still an old brand of Anti Corruption Agency despite its recent rebranding and upgrading. They are not doing what they are supposed to do, to combat corruption at all levels.
But instead they are now helping the BN-Umno federal government to combat their political opponents, by targeting Pakatan Rakyat leaders with unnecessary threats of harassments, investigations and interrogations like the police are doing now.
They are helping the BN-Umno leaders to curb Pakatan Rakyat influence by taking up various imagining corruption and power abuse allegations on its leaders in order to create a bad reputation on PKR, DAP and PAS leaders.
Looks like the MACC is still ineffective in combating corruptions, they are interfering deeper into the political stream especially the current Perak constitutional crisis.
The MACC do not care of the rampant corruption and money politics in Umno at all because because MACC is still accountable to the prime minister’s department whose office was led by the Umno president himself.
So do you think will MACC ever dare step into Umno to probe into their corruptions when their boss is the Umno president and prime minister?

Is party hopping so bad like crime? Situation and facts
With the recent crossover of an Umno state assemblyman from Perak to PKR, there many reports, statements and view of his actions in condemnation, welcoming, encouragement, immoral and so on.
Most of us also viewed that party hopping is not good for the person himself in moral grounds and loyalty, but not the party itself. Did we actually overlooked the fault at the party from the beginning?
Now, let us all view the insights of party hopping and why did it happened in the first place and what was the factor behind it, the person or the party?
We begin with when an opposition party MP or state assemblyman decides to cross over to a BN component party, the BN leaders will applaud it and welcome it as a positive move, with praise of high ethics and moral of the person who did that. And the person who jumped over to the BN is also hailed as a hero of what? We do not know what hero!
But when a BN MP or state assemblyman decides to crossover to an opposition party instead, the BN is quick to label such move as immoral, betrayal to the people, the party and the person is problematic and so on. The person who walks over to the opposition is often branded as an attitude problem and that the BN has got no problems at all.
A same situation also applies like this, when an opposition MP or state assemblyman crosses over to the BN, the person is deemed to be clean and he or she need not to be investigated for any possible corrupt practice being taken place.
But when a BN MP or state assemblyman crosses over to the opposition instead, allegations of the person being corrupt and received bribes to walk over will surface and the former ACA and the newly formed Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) are quick to investigate the allegation with grave suspicion of a possible real crime taken place.
From this point of view, is this fair? What we saw here is the entire situation is one-sided. The BN still have the advantages in penalizing the person with pressures from MACC. If some circumstances permit, the BN could also avenge the person’s cross over with harassment or imprisonment from the authorities if they wanted to.
We could see the case here, whichever sides make its move, the BN is sure to come out and seek its advantage to the entire situation, because the mass media and press entirely belongs to them.
Well, we had seen and read many views and comments from the public in regards with the good, the bad and the ugly side of party hopping and we could also see that not much study or analysis were made prior to the presentation of such views.
We all should know that whenever something happens, it must happen with a cause. The root cause to this issue, the root cause to this problem, and the root cause to such happenings or situations.
Let us take a look on what recently happened to Perak’s Bota state assemblyman Datuk Nasarudin Hashim and why did he left Umno for PKR.
In Umno, we could all see factional rivalries, internal bickering, money politics, corruptions, phantom voters and factionalism is rampant in the party with every leader and members of the party are being part of the dirty game from within, and such activities are especially active during the upcoming party elections which is currently ongoing at divisional level and expected to intensify when the elections for the party supreme council approach. Each of every Umno politicians are too busy with their internal party matters until to the fact that they do not even have sufficient time to serve their constituencies and voters.
Even the former Perak Umno liaison chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Tajol Rosli had openly admitted the fact that he could not control the overcrowded infighting in Perak Umno anymore and resigned from his state chairman and division chairman positions.
Therefore, the reason Datuk Nasarudin given for his departure from Umno was very clear. The factional rivalries, internal bickering, money politics, corruptions, phantom voters and factionalism are the reasons. Datuk Nasarudin was not the cause for all these problems but Umno was the cause of all these problems and everyone knows it very well and so do the Umno members.
The situation is very clear, with the factional rivalries, internal bickering, money politics, corruptions, phantom voters and factionalism in Umno continues, Datuk Nasarudin was unable to serve his constituency and voters effectively because of the blockades, politicking and boycotts he experienced from within Umno.
Datuk Nasarudin’s justification for his move into PKR is correct in order to continue serving his constituency and voters without fail, instead of keeping himself busy with Umno’s internal bickering and neglecting his services to the people in the end.
In this case, should anymore shifts of Umno MPs or state assemblymen to the opposition party take place, it should therefore be encouraged and lauded for the mere benefits of the people and should also be viewed as a sacrifice for the sake of the people’s welfare and being.
In the case of party hopping in Sabah and Sarawak politics, they are of completely a different scenario compare with what is happening currently. We could definitely say that most of the moves by politicians over there are immoral, unethical and corrupt at sight.
In these two states, we could see very frequent, on instigation by Umno leaders, the regional based parties often split, with factional fights amongst its leaders which in the end lead to the break ups of the said party and formation of another party one after another, coupled with its leaders and members will start hopping from one party to another due a lots of choice.
In Sabah, the then opposition PBS strength was systematically dismantled (although it survived eventually) into a number of parties like SAPP, PBRS, UPKO, LDP with Umno leading the charge into the state with other peninsular based BN component parties like MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PPP. It is clear fact that money politics had spread all over this state and spoiled those regional based parties to become subservient to Umno.
During the political transition or crisis, we could see certain politicians had jumped ship for about six to nine times in a year in order to seek a “better political prospect”. Although the situation in Sabah had slow down with Umno already entirely in firm grip in power, Sarawak is still being a target from both Umno and its local proxy Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) to ensure the unity of the Dayak community does not turn into a strong political force to stake its claim on the state chief ministership.
The Dayak based parties which were systematically dismantled by PBB were SNAP, PBDS and now PRS while SPDP and PDS may soon receive the axe as well. The Dayaks were disintegrated from a one political entity and displaced into other ethnic based or mixtures of tribes’ parties like PBB, SUPP, PDS, SPDP so that the community’s political power could be overpowered.
Attempts by several Dayak political leaders to regroup and form a much larger and stronger Malaysian Dayak Congress (MDC) has been a failure because of the continuous efforts by both Umno and PBB to block the Dayak’s unity attempt. The Registrar of Societies (ROS) had recently rejected the application from MDC pro-tem committee on grounds of a possible national security threat in Sarawak should the Dayaks were to be reunited gradually. The MDC had since filed an appeal to ROS on the rejection but the later have yet to make any decision pending instruction from the home affairs minister.
As such, we should always view with in depth party hopping in a different manner and circumstances based on the current political situation and the political parties involved with the person in transition. If we see Datuk Nasarudin’s current situation now, it is neither immoral, unethical nor bad, but in the case of Sarawak and Sabah, we can say it does involve a lots of immoral, unethical and bad doers in its field.
No wonder those who are in power are overly powerful now and those who are weak are further weaken with no choice but to become overly subservient to the powerful.
Our disadvantage here is the BN always claim to have the good and the best, the opposition are the bad and the worst or even a threat to the national security. Therefore, BN says ISA is essential in order to control and curb the opposition’s threat.
Independence of MACC and JAC must be assured
The bills for the establishment of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Judiciary Appointments Commission (JAC) had been tabled in the parliament recently by the prime minister and now its papers had been put to debate. We could see from the details of these two proposed bills that the appointment of commissioners for these two commissions still lies on the jurisdictions of the prime minister himself. Apart from the commissioners’ appointment, the appointment of the advisory panels, the operations review panel, the consultative panel and the complaints committee for the MACC also lies on the sole discretion of the prime minister.
So, are the independence of MACC and JACC rest assured? As long as it still have direct connections with the prime minister’s department, the independence of these two commissions are still questionable and doubtful. To give a simple word on these, there are no clear cut for a real implementations but merely intend to create a final legacy for Pak Lah whose term is due to end next March following his departure from the Umno presidency.
In this case, in order to assured the public and our parliamentarians, both the MACC and JAC should come under the direct jurisdiction of a parliamentary committee against corruption and a parliamentary committee on judiciary respectively.
Therefore, the appointment of commissioners to the both MACC and JAC should also be scrutinized and endorsed by both parliamentary committees appointed amongst members of parliament which shall consist of members from both Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional as well. The prime minister’s role in such appointment shall only be at proposal level and not direct appointment nor confirmation.
Besides, the appointment of five panels to oversee the MACC must also be done and endorsed by the parliament instead of the prime minister. To have the parliamentary roles onto such appointments will also help to enhance the transparency and accountability of these bodies and commissions as well as to assured the public of its independence.
If Pak Lah and the Barisan Nasional government still insist on the current proposed structural role of both MACC and the JAC, it is just like nothing has really been done at all, but merely an upgrade of status of these two bodies has been carried out.
Our main concern here, can the independence of these two commissions rest assured? And what are the justification then?

MACC can be monitored but why PDRM cannot?
Yesterday, the prime minister had tabled the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) bill in the parliament, to enable the anti graft organization to function as an effective enforcement body. The debate of the MACC Bill in parliament would be today.
With the upgrade of the current Anti Corruption Agency (ACA) into a full-fledged commission solely responsible to the parliament, the new MACC shall also be supervised and oversaw by five special bodies namely the Anti Corruption Advisory Board, the Special Committee on Corruption, Operations Review Panel, Corruption Prevention & Consultative Panel and lastly a Complaints Committee.
All the members of these panels will be selected from outside the commission and officials from the MACC will sit in these panels merely as ex-officio personnel. Some of these panels are also expected to be filled by parliamentarians from both the Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional.
As you can see, the new MACC is going to prove its transparency by willing to be monitored by five advisory panels, especially the Complaints Committee which would address any complaints and hear any dissatisfaction from the public.
So, how about the police force (PDRM)? Why are they so worried of being monitored by a proposed commission called the Independent Police Complaints & Misconducts Commission (IPCMC)? Why did the entire top officials of PDRM objected to the establishment of IPCMC to an extend of threatening to let loose crimes into our neighborhood if the government proceeds with its plan? Is PDRM trying to hide something within their organization and structure?
If you are not wrong and you are innocent, why afraid of being watch or monitored by the IPCMC? Don’t you all want to prove to the public the efficiency of your organization? If the entire structure of PDRM is unclean, corrupt and there are some cover-ups in its unlawful activities, then we understand, as IPCMC may prosecute those who were wronged in their duties and activities.
And did you know during the 1950s in Hong Kong, the Royal Police Force was entirely corrupted and it took years for the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to monitor and clean up the entire structure of the force until it became the most efficient police force in the world today. Today’s Hong Kong Police Force is considered the best in terms of efficiency, administration, crime busting and its technology as well.
The top officials of PDRM should clearly understand that by having IPCMC monitoring them in their daily functions does not mean they would be restricted in their law enforcement duties and crime prevention activities. The PDRM can carry out its functions as usual as a public security provider, the IPCMC is there to assist to monitor, investigate and to check on public dissatisfaction on the police force and at the same time to assist the force to enhance their professional image in the eyes of the public.
So, we cannot understand why is PDRM so afraid of IPCMC? If you have nothing wrong and discharging your duties with full honesty and commitment, why bother about IPCMC? Let those who are corrupt and abusing their powers to worry about this. And we are sure that not all personnel of PDRM are bad or corrupt.
Therefore, Pak Lah, when are you going to table the IPCMC Bill in the parliament? The Special Complaints Commission (SCC) that you are suggesting isn’t effective enough to evaluate PDRM to the whole extend. SCC is too general and applied to too many areas without any special attention or focus to PDRM. If you wish to go ahead with SCC, then forget it. It is just like nothing has been done.

Investigate Elements of Corruptions
We would like the parliament and the newly formed entity Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) to take a deep dive and investigate elements of corruptions which may arise in the development of houses and condominiums on the hillside and hill tops. This is because, we knew the laws and regulations guiding such constructions and projects, plus the enforcements and checks are all available. We cannot understand why are all these laws, regulations, guidelines and enforcements are not adhere to first of all? Why are the authorities start to finger pointing at each other now only after death had happened?
Those should be investigated include the Housing & Local Government Ministry, the local authorities, environmental department, geological department, public works department and other relevant agencies concerned.
Where are the Competency, Accountability and Transparency for all these proceedings? Haven't we learned from the Highland Towers tragedies?
