'Projects will not jeopardise Georgetown's heritage status' ~ Malaysiakini

Former Penang executive councillor in charge of tourism Teng Chang Yeow believes that the three high rise hotels approved by the previous state government will not jeopardise Georgetown's status as a Unesco heritage site.

Teng who is also Gerakan secretary-general mentioned that Unesco was aware of the projects and the stringent guidelines has been adhered to so far.

Therefore, Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam should check his facts first before attacking and warning Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan on the possibility of losing the twin heritage status.

What Ali Rustam had mentioned earlier in the heritage issue had confused and manipulated the actual facts thus, causing angers and confusion amongst the public. Ali Rustam, you'd better clean up you own backyard first before you interfere in other state's administration and affairs.
