Gerakan central committee member Datuk Dr Toh Kin Woon had resigned from the party yesterday, a day after he visited the PKR Permatang Pauh operation centre to express his support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's candidacy in the Permatang Pauh by-election.
Meanwhile, a Penang Gerakan Youth state liaison bureau vice chairman is also expected to quit the party tomorrow following his entry into DAP recently. He said he decided to quit Gerakan as the party had became irrelevant and due to Umno's continuous racial dominance in the BN. He also expressed his dissatisfaction over Umno's continuous arrogance towards the people and the community. "Gerakan promised to change and reform itself but until now nothing has been done and old faces are still at helm after their recent party elections at branch and divisional levels", he added.
