We had received news that party flags put up by our DAP members in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election were taken down by the authorities reasoning that DAP was not contesting in the by-election, therefore the DAP cannot raise their party flags in the public.
Why double standard ? Umno is putting up many of its flags on the streets everywhere in the contesting areas. It was actually Barisan Nasional (BN) who is contesting the by-elections and not Umno.
The only registered contesting parties with the Elections Commission for this by-election are BN and PAS. So why are Umno flags raised for this elections then? The authorities should be fair to all parties who are contesting in the elections and the political parties who are assisting their coalition partners.
The authorities are acting double standard.
